List seven songs you are into right now. No matter what the genre, whether they have words, or even if they're not any good, but they must be songs you're really enjoying now. Post these instructions in your livejournal along with your 7 songs. Then tag 7 other people to see what they're listening to.

1. if i said "it's the soundtrack for what i'm writing right now," would you understand?
2. don't like new album as much as the 2004 one, yet. for the record, i really like the 2004 album. there are some significant mistakes made with male vocals on "vulcan," at least as far as my first listen is concerned. but, when i went to explore the website s.q.e. finally got together, "narcotic" started playing after the page loaded and i loved it so much i just left the tab up behind my livejournal reading page and let the song loop. it's very lynchian feeling, i think. it might be their visual style that's informing that opinion, tho.
3. i heard this on one of the latenight npr jazz type shows, they were doing recent and experimental work. i sat there with my mouth hanging open and waited through the next six not-exactly-short songs on a worknight to get the title. i knew even then, it's getting used for a monologue. who knows what monologue, the song hasn't told me yet. but sweet jesus, meantimes i'm just going to listen to it over and over again, cos this song KICKS ASS.
4. woe is she who can't get ure to submit material to stillstream.com....
5. i was going to say: oh, summer, i lean toward lighter music, music that fills too many sonic frequences is too hot, to much to bear. but during the winter i say, oh, winter, i lean toward sparse music, too much sound and it draws away from the environment.... i might just have a preference for sonic minimalism, these days.
now for my tagg-ies:
coyote_moon (who might not ever look at livejournal anymore)
ethedrone (who will probably be prominant on such a list in a week or so himself)
kimisutra (who i don't know if she's even home yet)
gear_halo (for whom congratulations are in huge order)
conformer (who i really think needs a hug)
tree (who also needs a hug, get over here so i can give one to you)
transcribe (who will be getting an email back from me in the very near future)
nevarra (who i'd like to tag for everything)
i get to tag eight people. because tracy might not ever look at livejournal anymore.
now i say (somewhat ironically).... rock'n'roll!!
